I wrote it as a seven-issue series, and produced (and lettered) these five pages to send to publishers, to maybe get all the other pages produced. Jethro Morales did the pencils/inks, Sara Rude did the colors, and Dug Nation did the cover. They’re all terrific, and will bring great honor to their families.

Some guy commissioned Fortune to do a sketch of whatever he wants, as long as it’s in Hawaii, and he chose to draw Dillon and Katie, I’m assuming because they’ve been so very good to us. BEHOLD!

I’d just like to note, for my own ego, that this is the first time that characters I made up are being used for things I have nothing to do with. It’s a feeling, I’m sure, not unlike my kids going away to college. And they’re immediately half-naked. OF COURSE.

ONE WEEK LEFT! This whole crazy adventure we’ve gone on together (you pledging, me posting these updates) is over in just 7 of your human days. What a crazy, wild ride it’s been. You remember that time we hit 100%? That was pretty cool. I’ll probably remember that for the rest of my life.

What does this mean for you? Well, if you’ve already pledged, nothing. Your work here is done. Enjoy the comic(s) I send you in a few months*, and think of us every time you see a cowboy and a dinosaur in the same picture.

If you haven’t pledged yet, or were thinking of upping your pledge (you sneaky devil you), PLEASE DO SO. Seven days is not as long as it seems, and if you wait too long… I shudder to think of what might happen. NO copy of Paradox #1 at all?! What will you do when your friends host their Paradox Reading Parties**? Read OTHER comics? Watch that Marmaduke movie? Really? I thought you were cooler than that, theoretical pledger.

Anyway, I will actually be in the sky when this ends (long story), but the moment I’m on dry land, I’ll post a final update, saying where we go from here. Also, artist John Fortune is cooking up a special treat for you guys. You can’t eat it, but it’s, uhm, it’s a treat for your eyeballs.
